Elon Musk has a history of turning science fiction into reality. His next project? Hyperloop. He released a 57-page document outlining his plans for a revolutionary mass transit system costing 6-10 billion dollars. It was inspired by the high-speed rail system being built in California. Musk questions the project,

"How could Silicon Valley.. build a bullet train that is both one of the most expensive per mile and one of the slowest in the world?"

California's project was originally estimated to cost 34 million dollars and is now double the cost at 65 billion dollars Hyperloop would transform life as we know it, at a much lower price. It would cut down the 5 and a half hour drive from LA to San Francisco down to 30 minutes. There are doubts that this can actually happen, but if does, we'd have a safer, faster, more environmentally friendly way to travel.

What do you think? We'd love to hear your feedback.
